P2716 - PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID "D" ELECTRICAL
Description of DTC code P2716
Pressure control solenoids are intended to regulate the line pressure in the transmission according to the current flow. This pressure is necessary to apply the various clutch packs in the transmission to obtain the various gear ratios. They are very necessary for vehicle efficiency.
If the P2716 OBD2 fault code is established, it indicates that the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) has encountered a malfunction in the transmission pressure control solenoid D.
Symptoms of fault code P2716
- The Check Engine lamp lights up.
- Slippage of the transmission.
- The transmission overheats.
- Increased fuel efficiency.
- The vehicle is in limp mode.
Causes of OBD2 P2716
Reasons to store the DTC P2716 OBDII code:
- Perhaps the pressure solenoid "D" is faulty.
- There may be contamination in the transmission fluid.

- Perform continuity tests on all the wires of the circuit. An absence of continuity means shorted wiring, which should be repaired or replaced.
