P1698 CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP: PCM FAULT NO CCD MESSAGE FROM TCM
Description of DTC code P1698
The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is the controller that monitors and regulates the engine operation. On the other hand, the TCM (Transmission Control Module) also regulates the performance of the car's transmission. Both control modules have constant communication so that the systems regulated by them can work together.
Both the TCM and the PCM have several sensors and actuators with which they can monitor the right performance of their systems. All communication is sent and received through the communication circuit known as the CAN bus network (Control Area Network).
The P1698 OBD2 diagnostic code is a manufacturer-specific code that applies to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep brands to indicate that the Powertrain Control Module has been unable to communicate with the Transmission Control Module.

Causes of OBD2 P1698

- The battery may have an excessively low voltage.

- Consult the TSBs.
